What this site collects, and what it does not.
This site is run by Comharchumann Oileán Árainn Mhór, the island co-operative. It is deliberately simple: it does not ask you to create an account, and it does not build a profile of you.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form, what you type in it — your name, your email address and your message — is sent to the co-op by email and kept so we can reply. It is not used for anything else and it is not passed to anyone else. Ask us and we will delete it.
Counting visits
We count page visits with Umami, which we run ourselves. It stores nothing on your device, sets no cookies, and records no personal data — only that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and what sort of device. We cannot identify you from it, and neither can anyone else. That is why this site has no cookie banner.
Maps and video
Route pages show a Google map, and the home page carries a film hosted by Vimeo. Both load from those companies when you open the page, which means they see the request — your IP address and browser — as they would on any site. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
Where the site lives
The site and its database are hosted on servers in the European Union. Photographs, opening hours and business listings shown here come from the Seo Árainn Mhór app, run by the same co-operative.
